Lil Durk has reportedly denied rumors that he’s in protective custody following his recent arrest. Last month, the Chicago rapper was detained in Florida and charged with murder-for-hire conspiracy and other serious allegations. Currently held without bail, Durk has pleaded not guilty, with his trial initially set for January 7, 2025, though reports suggest it’s likely to be postponed.
This week, Durk was moved to a prison in Los Angeles, where he appears to be in good spirits despite the situation. According to audio shared by an associate, @900bruhbruh, Durk seems to be holding up well. In the phone call, he reassures his friend that he’s fine and clarifies that he is not in protective custody, stating he’s being treated fairly by fellow inmates. His associate, who expressed his unwavering support, posted about the call on social media, writing:
“Just got off the phone with my brudda @lildurk. He’s in good spirits, staying positive, and fighting to get back home to his kids and family. We’re not glorifying negativity—we’re more than just street guys. That’s actually an understatement. We’re men of honor and code, no matter our financial status. Bro hit the mainline with the rest of our kind… NO PC. #FREESMURK #FREETRIGGAROME.”
Fans have shown an outpouring of support for Durk, expressing relief that he is reportedly in good spirits while calling for his release.

Charges Linked to Quando Rondo Incident
Durk’s arrest came shortly after five alleged members of his OTF crew were taken into custody. Authorities claim they were hired to target Quando Rondo as an act of retaliation for the 2020 death of King Von. In 2022, Quando and his cousin, Lul Pab, were attacked in a shooting at a Los Angeles gas station. While Quando survived, Lul Pab tragically lost his life.

Prosecutors allege Durk referenced seeking revenge in his music, a key point in the indictment unveiled earlier this month.
As the legal battle unfolds, supporters remain hopeful for Durk’s return to his family and freedom.
